My own 9-second statement: “I’m known for my innovative ideas, my unconventional action and my witty insights.”
I am the official head cheerleader of the Tulare Downtown Foundation. My vision as the founder was to provide an avenue for businesses outside our assessment district to participate in our downtown adventure.
As a former MC for weddings and other events, I’m willing and able to be a speaker on a wide range of topics. I’m an expert when it comes to producing outdoor events.
I’ve set up property based investment districts and as a guru of the creative, I use my construction experience to be our in-house fabricator.
During Covid, with students missing school and parents trying to find ways to educate and entertain their kids, I came up with the drive-through “Mad Scientist Night.” Enlisting the assistance of my office manager, we assembled science kits from common household items and distributed them through a drive-through in front of our office. That grew into what we now call the “Mad Scientist Fair” where we pass out commercially produced science kits.
As a nationally published author, I love to write. But I also like to make videos, listen to music and mash all that together!

We also have a sister organization, the Tulare Downtown Association. The TDA is an auxiliary organization to the Foundation. The Assoication is a Business Investment District providing services to the merchants and property owners in the downtown core. We represent nearly 300 businesses within a 30-block area of the downtown that includes City Hall, the Police Department, Library and City Council Chambers, as well as retail and service businesses in a mixed-use environment. The Association is a 501(c)6. Membership is automatic when your business is located within the assessment district.
Association Advocacy:
Utilizes funding for the benefit of its members and the area
Advocates for the Downtown at City Hall
Maintains a downtown merchant gift certificate program
Addresses “ad hoc” issues
Addresses issues with vandalism, crime, graffiti, and participates in Business Watch
Tracks vacancies in the downtown, seeks to match property interest with options and availability
Publishes a newsletter with free flyer insertion for member businesses and distribution to over 300 member businesses and extended recipients.

How can I get involved in
To get involved in our events, you can sponsor an event, visit our social media sites or attend our events! You’re automatically a member of the Association with a business located within the district boundaries. You can become a member of the Foundation by participating in the membership program.
Services of Tulare Downtown
Tulare Downtown Association offers a range of services to downtown businesses, including marketing support, event planning assistance, and cleaning services. The Foundation produces events, raising money to support our Clean and Safe Program, and works with other businesses and non-profits to support the downtown core.
